After the tournament money was donated to the orphanage, Casa Hogar was able to renovate, add amenities, and create a program for girls. 8 orphans from Casa Hogar were chosen to fish in the Bisbee Black & Blue Juan Anaya, Eduardod Arnaut, Jonathan Bernal, Geovanny Cabanas, Ramon Carmona, Alan Galindo, Jose Galindo and Moises Manriques. Casa Hogar provided shelter, food and education to underprivileged children in the Cabo area. Casa Hogar suffered damage during Hurricane Odile in real life, as did most of Cabo. The orphanage originally housed orphaned children, approximately 40 of them around the time the Home Home Team participated in Bisbee’s Black & Blue. Omar himself grew up on the streets of Mexico and was inspired to give back to his community in the form of Casa Hogar. With the money, the orphanage pays the bank with enough remainder to renew, and Captain Wade decides to turn a new page and prioritize his family again.Ĭasa Hogar is an orphanage run by Omar Venegas and Rebeca Rangel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In the end, Omar is able to catch a blue marlin in the first place and earn enough money to save the orphanage while giving Wade the victory he needed.
Bisbee’s Black and Blue Fishing Tournament is the solution that both need, and when the two parties are paired on a boat, it seems unlikely that the Home House Team will win. Wade Malloy (played by Day after tomorrow star Dennis Quaid) is a finished captain who is chasing the glory of another tournament win, as he currently holds the record of winning two years in a row during his glory days. The Casa Hogar is running out of money fast: if Omar cannot pay his debts, the property will be repossessed and the children will go out on the streets again.
